ESKATOLOGI ERA REFORMASI INDONESIA: PEMBACAAN POSKOLONIAL TERHADAP WAHYU 21-22:5 DALAM MEMIKIRKAN ESKATOLOGI DARI INDONESIA

Abstract


Eschatology is an essential concept in New Testament studies with great complexity, debate, and significance. However, the studies are dominated by western context and traditions. Applying the Postcolonial Criticism method of scripture on the text of Revelation 21-22 and Indonesian reformation context, this article shows that it is possible to construct an Indonesian Eschatology that stresses the people’s hope. In conclusion, this article highlights that God will resolve any oppressions and corruptions in Indonesia, making the country prosper.

 

Eskatologi adalah sebuah konsep yang sangat penting dalam studi Perjanjian Baru dengan kompleksitas, perdebatan dan signifikansi yang besar.  Namun demikian, studi eskatologi lebih banyak didominasi oleh konteks dan tradisi Barat. Dengan menerapkan metode Kritik Poskolonial terhadap Wahyu 21-22:5 dalam konteks reformasi di Indonesia, artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa mungkin untuk membentuk eskatologi khas Indonesia yang menekankan pengharapan umat Indonesia. Di bagian kesimpulan, artikel ini menggarisbawahi bahwa Allah akan membebaskan Indonesia dari penindasan dan korupsi, serta membuat bangsa ini hidup dalam kesejahteraan.
